London is the capital of England and the UK situated
on the banks of the river Thames. It is the UK's largest and most
populous metropolitan area. London is a leading global
city and one of the world's largest financial centres.

London is made up of two ancient
cities which are now joined together. The City of London, known
simply as 'the City' and is the business and financial heart
of the United Kingdom. It is also known as the Square Mile. The
City of Westminster, where the Parliament and most of the government
offices are located. Also Buckingham Palace, the official London
residence of the Queen and the Royal family are located here. Together
they all make up a region known as Greater London.
According to the Office for National Statistics, based on 2006
estimates, 69.4 per cent of the 7.5 million inhabitants of London
were White, with 58 per cent White British, 2.5 per cent White
Irish and 8.9 per cent classified as Other White. Some 13.1 per
cent are of South Asian descent, with Indians making up 6.5 per
cent of London's population, followed by Bangladeshis and Pakistanis
at 2.3 per cent each. 2 per cent are categorised as "Other
Asian". The 2001 census showed that 27.1% of Greater London's
population were born outside the UK,
Apart from amazingly irresistble tourist locations for touring,

from across the globe. It is one of the world's most popular global
educational centre, having one of the largest populations of overseas
students of any city in the world. As Indians form the single largest
